Another Jersey

Imagine how much money Reebox makes selling licensed jersey alone each season....?

I bought another jersey this year--# 44 Dallas Clark. It's blue for home games. $80 something later, I walked out of Dick's feeling really dumb. What make me spend $80 freaking dollar on a nylon easy-to-put-together jersey like that? Wow...I did feel dumb...as a matter of fact, I've been feeling dumb until today. Yup, I spent that on number 44 and that the thing that said *authorized NFL license; Reebox*.

Then on Sunday, it was the Colts first home game at its brand new Lucas Oil Stadium. Now, I don't feel as dumb anymore. Apparently, if I am, I have so many friends wearing white and blue being dumb with me.

It's the football season, I guess I better start forgetting about the price tag......

Beautiful Ad

I think this print ad is beautiful. I also think the designs on the Grey Goose bottles are stunning and very inviting. The vodka itself probably doesn't cost much, but we all consumers pay for these eye candies.

The Doggy Obsession

For over the years, I've always wanted a dog and the only reason I don't have one yet because I just want to make sure I don't turn to be that kind of people I hate--those that buy a dog and are unable to commit the it. All puppies are cute, but I do not want the cuteness to blind my judgement, so I'm still thinking. Since I've been thinking, now it turns to be my obsession. I happen to prefer bigger dogs, so I need to think a little harder I guess since I don't own a house. So space is an issue. In response to my obsession, in the next few days, I will be posting pictures of dogs I consider. A few of them.

How to Photograph a New Puppy

English Mastiff

Gold Retrievers

Labrador Retrievers

Remove film from box and load camera.
Remove film box from puppy's mouth and throw in trash.
Remove puppy from trash and brush coffee grounds from muzzle.
Choose a suitable background for photo. Mount camera on tripod and focus.
Find puppy and take dirty sock from mouth. Place puppy in pre-focused spot and return to camera.
Forget about spot and crawl after puppy on knees. Focus with one hand and fend off puppy with other hand.
Get tissue and clean nose print from lens.
Take flash cube from puppy's mouth and throw in trash.
Put cat outside and put peroxide on the scratch on puppy's nose.
Put magazines back on coffee table.
Try to get puppy's attention by squeaking toy over your head.
Replace your glasses and check camera for damage.
Jump up in time to grab puppy by scruff of neck and say, "No, outside! No, outside!"
Clean up mess. Fix a drink. Sit back in chair with drink and resolve to teach puppy "sit" and "stay" the first thing in the morning.

Jabbawockeez

It is a bit of an embarrasment really to admit how much I love this crew. Watch them.

If you can't beat them, JOIN them

While I'm writing this blog, I'm waiting for Steelers/ Dolphins game to start. There has been a delay though due to some on-going rain and lightings--this is killing those new grasses laid nicely at Heinz Field. It will be muddy night in Pittsburg (though I'm not complaining. I'm very anticipating to see muddy Rothisburger rolling around the on field any minutes now.)

Living in Indianapolis myself offers me many opportunity to attend many professional sport events from Pacers to Colts and the city itself is the home of NCAA headquarter, especially last year, the Colts has won our city the first Lombardi Trophy--this makes it more exciting for sport fans around here. Since I've moved to the US, I know I'll end up liking football. Aside from my job requirement to attend various games from time to time, I find myself begging my boss to let me go to football games--both home and away games. Football (American football) has appealed to me as an aggressive sport. During my first year in the US, little as I knew, I didn't understand the game well (although I understand enough of how form-fitting those pants are, lol). So I didn't get to enjoy it. At first I a little oppose an idea of sitting there and watching a game after another. Saturdays are college games and Sundays are NFL....soon I learn the system. Living in an environment when almost all my friends, co-workers, boyfriend and pretty much anybody I know worship football, I soon join them.

I find football pretty amazing really. I'm not surprise how much I love football now, but I'm a little surpise on how long I can sit and watch football on weekends. For once, I'm amazed on how big of the football business and how much money/ business football has generated to the city. I'm thinking about a controversial subject occured in Indianapolis just a year or so ago on whether the city should use tax payers money to fund a new Colt stadium. By the time I know it, I can see a brand new billions dollars stadium 80% built anticipating to be ready for 2008 season a few minutes from my apartment.

Okay...I'm off to watch the game. See ya!

You Win Some, You Lose Some

It just ended a few minutes ag0. I strongly felt disappointed, discouraged and pretty much down.

Indianapolis Colts was defeated by New England Patriots 20-24. It is our first loss of this season bringing us to 7-1. It was a big deal to me for a few minutes. Until I've discovered a few things. I though have found a light through this disappointment that just has occurred to me.

I'm not going to talk football here, but more of a big picture. Last season, the Colts has won the first Super Bowl for this city since Irsay has bought the team in the 80s from Baltimore. The first---so imagine anything with the first time ever in it; it's big. Since then, people just love the team more. Many Colts-logo items have been sold like hot cakes. Indianapolis has turned to be a big sport town...bigger than before. People are dedicating to the team. Dedication comes with its price; people's hope and expectation are higher than ever. So with the loss tonight, for a second, it felt unbearable. I've been thinking about life (not the football anymore). People set certain expectations on something, having high hope, then they fell. When people expect something of someone too much, if things go good; it's great. If things go bad, they fall. When they fall, they fall hard and it hurts a bunch.

What if we all try not to have expectations and just take life as the way it is. What if we live for today and go by the flow. I guess when we fall, we won't fall as hard. What if we don't take life too seriously and except things just the way they are.

You win some, you lose some. Sounds fair to me. What about you?

Which Housewife Are You?--little fun quiz

I've found out just a few seconds ago, I'm Lynette of Desperate Housewives! The abc website's 'which housewife are you?' quiz reads.....

"You gave up a great job for this? No one really appreciates you, and yet you slog on, with very little sleep and very little thanks. Who can blame you when you occasionally lose it? Hang in there. Just lay off the Ritalin."

Hey......I have no comment on this quiz result above. There is nothing to dislike about this show, though, there are a lot to love about it. A while back when all the girls love 'Sex and the City' so much, though Sex and the City' has their down time. This 'Desperate Housewives' has not have one yet (according to me!). This season three has been going so good. I love the show! Many people who haven't seen this show yet often wonder what make the show so special. Well, I say it offers me with lots of flavors--comedy, thriller, suspense, drama and family. Also love the screen play. Love the show. And thanks to my Comcast DVR--I no longer have to watch commercials!!!

Rob Zombie's Halloween

I'm one of those weirdos--always end up rooting for the bad guy. Recently, I come across a recent film made by Rob Zombie--the Halloween aka Mike Myers movie. This movie has been around for a while, re-made, re-edited. The recent one by Rob Zombie though, I won't put it on a top list of my fav movies, but it makes me think--I've always been rooting for bad boys.
As a fan, I've always felt bad for our bad boy here. According to myself, Michael Myers ain't bad since he was born. Heck, with a family background like that, I'd have turned psycho as well. It seems to me he has his reasons to kills, though I disagree with his action, I too feel for him. Not sure if this is what Rob Zombie is trying to get his point across, but if he is, it works--with me. Well, if you've been following this movie, you'll see, so many times, the movie (s) show Myers's bitter background. I guess, again GUESS, nobody is originally bad. It has a lot to do with environments and experiences. These should give me or you another reason to forgive those to have done bad things. Well, at least some of them.

The Guardian

Man! Isn't this movie awesome! I've actually never read any review before. A Blockbuster girl cheered me to get this movie, saying it's good, so I got it, and yeah, it is good, well I'm not saying great even though I want to. My standard of a great movie is pretty different than others most of the time, so...

Besides comedies, maybe I'm a patriotic/
military/men-in-uniform kind of person of something, but man, this kind of flick makes me pump and love life. I guess it inspires me to have a better tomorrow. Life is bright and shine, lol. Aside from the movie, I have been tired all day and yep, this morning, I felt like an absolute crap when getting up and that shitty feeling stays with me all day long. Ended up sleep about 3 hours last night. See, that's why I'd rather not sleeping at all if getting less than 3 hours.

HERE WE COME--SUPER BOWL XLI

Okay, I confess: as much as I was rooting for the Colts last night during AFL Championship game, I was lured into Tom Brady's Hot-ness. The guy is so cute and so nice that he gave us, Blue and White fans, the one and the only interception during the last 30 seconds of the 4th quarter. WE WIN PEOPLE. WE ARE GOING TO SUPER BOWL!!!!

Aside from all of the excitement, I'm glad we win the AFC title and on the way to Florida. Coach Dungy deserves it. Manning deserves it. Dallas Clark deserves it. Addai deserves it. Indianapolis deserves it--Big time. Our last Super Bowl present was what?.....1970s. Back then it wasn't even Indianapolis Colts yet, so to me, that doesn't count. Looking at the RCA dome, our wall is pretty much almost empty. The team definitely deserves this title and that yes, we are so going to Super Bowl. Indy isn't a big of town, but it's called a sport town. There are Pacers, Colts and Indy500. I know the Colts is a great football team, but in the past years, it had been an unfortunate. Especially with Peyton, he is one hell of a quarterback. Great quarterback to be exact--but never until this year, he has won anything. Football is a teamwork--not a one man show. Apparently, in the past three games, our defensive team has come around and proves themselves a great team. I'm very pump. We will be meeting the Bears in Miami. Big game.

A Litte Here and There

The Patriots wins tonight, so here it is, we will meet you at home Tom Brady. (FYI: Brady = Hottest player in the league)

-----------------------------------------------------

Aside from football, I finally dragged my ass out of bed this morning, and desperatedly made it to the gym, which, believe it or not, I don't even remember when the last time I visited this holy place. Recently, I take a close look at my level of tireness, amount of food I consume and last, but not least, the fact that I can't even see my toes anymore when looking down, yahhhh those were the last calls. I've got to work out.

Speaking of gym, there are always a few things I find very amusing every single time I step inside. There are almost aways a few types of people in there: ONE: A serious atheletes type. You know those who lift like 300 lbs and sweats their asses off in front of weight machines. Ahh...you've got some pictures. TWO: Those who try...very try to lose weights and you can tell, there's still a long way to go for them. (but hey! at least they are at the gym. First step right?) THREE: This group wants to stay healthy. There ain't nothing wrong with them. FOUR: Those who just get back to gym after...God knows how long. They look so damn tired. (I'm in this category lol) FIVE: Those who join the gym for social purposes. They ain't working out. They are checking people out and God forbid, they are checking themselves out too. This last one is the funniest.

Oh jeez.....tomorrow is Monday.

WE DID IT!!!

Finally, it was over for another week. I had been stressed in the past week, scared my ass off by those tough Ravens guys and their no.1 defensive in the league. A happy night for me: Colts is going to the AFC Championship next week. The playoff game we had tonight is one hell of the game--historically. I know all those Baltimore fans have left their stadium extremely disappointed, but hey, so much for all the yappie yappie talk through the last week. We end it tonight..well..at least for another year. Even though the Colts used to be Baltimore Colts and yes, they packed their stuff and left town without notice, but but but, that was a long time ago. Get over it!!!

Love the subline in Indy Star website by Phillipe B. Wilson--"Twenty-three years later, the Colts have sucked the life out of this city again." (FYI: city = Baltimore)

Killing Me Softly

Second week now I've been listening to this song over and over. There's something about it. My choice is Lauren Hill version.

"Strumming my pain with his fingers
Singing my life with his words
Killing me softly with his song
Killing me softly with his song
Telling my whole life with his words.
Killing me softly with his song.

I heard he sang a good song
I heard he had a style
And so I came to see him And listen for a while.
And there he was this young boy A stranger to my eyes.

I felt all flushed with fever
Embarrassed by the crowd.
I felt he found my letters And read each one out loud.
I prayed that he would finish But he just kept right on.

He sang as if he knew me In all my dark despair.
And then he looked right through me As if I wasn't there.
And he just kept on singing Singing clear and strong."

True Blue

The Indianapolis Colts' 23-8 AFC wild-card playoff victory over Kansas City Chiefs at the RCA Dome makes me extremely happy. We've managed to survive another week of the playoff. Next week, we will meet Ravens.

Enough with the good news. Steelers' head coach Bill Cowher resigns after 15 seasons with the Pittsburge Steelers--a job he probably could have held for life. This is so strange. Cowher is one of those very few reasons I have been keeping an eye on the team being aside from Indianapolis Colts. It's also funny cuz in the past, I had only cared about the Colts since it's a home team, and even remember when Steelers came to Indy to play Colts for our home game last year, I didn't even care. I even got a free great ticket to the game, but never went there. Until not too long ago, I have watched some of Steeler's games and players' profiles. This time, it was a little different. This team has personalities, and I mean, big time. Coach Cowher also has this big personalities. Watching him is like watching Cartoon Network. He is so lively. I've always told Dan how much I like this guy. He is fun to watch, regardless of the game situation.
I'm telling ya. I have a whole lots of reasons to be in love with football. lol

My Captain

I don't remember when the very first time was--the moment when I had my first sip of Captain Morgan.
I've never really been a really big of a drinker until my freshman year in Chiang Mai (well, this really has nothing to do with the rum or anything, but it's related.) Remember back then, my very first time drinking alcohol was when I was about 16 or 17, and it was some whiskey. Don't ask me why, but back then, it was pretty cool. "West End" I remember the name of it--some cheap whiskey originated from I-don't-even-know-where-until-now. We went to a live bar in Chiang Mai and that was what a friend brought with her because it was cheap. As time went by, my alcohol journey during my years up north had been upgraded to Red, Black and Chivas. They were all scotch/whiskey kind of family.
Once I got to the US, no one around me drank those anymore, so I had expanded to Tequila/Vodka and cheap beers categories--well pretty much anything at all, but never came close to rum for some odd reasons. Someone introduces me with this basic drink one night containing coke and rum. I then found out later it was Morgan's that gave all the 'taste.' It's strange you know. I tried Morgan's by itself a few times, but didn't even come close to like it. It has to be mixed with coke and yeah....all the taste buds and fun stuff go from there. Not sure why, but I can drink this stuff all night long for no reason. Someone once asks me why. I don't really know. I wouldn't say it tastes so good or anything like that, but it might be its aroma. I love Morgan's--one of my very few favorite drinks. The down side? The headache never fails me the morning after (well, this really depends on the time you do the bottom up, but hopefully no one would want to start drinking before 10 in the morning, right?)

The Eve

(Photo Courtesy: Robert Scheer/ The Star)
This year must have been the most chill New Year of all time. I stay home like an old maid, eat a lot, and watch more football. How exciting!!! Anyway, the Colts win over Dolphins tonight--all good to me.

I have been thinking about New Year Resolutions. As much as I hate to have one or two or three (since there is a big chance my resolutions will more likely go down drain a few days after the New Year,) I feel that I am obligated to join the club. So I've listed some. They are the same....like any other year people...same old craps.

1) Exercise 3-4 times a week (yeah yeah yeah) Do you guys know I've joined the gym and used about 10% of the money spent.
2) Eat less fast food. I'm talking about limiting to once every two weeks. (yeah yeah yeah)
3) Eat less fried food. I'm talking about limiting to once every week only. (yeah yeah yeah)

Only three for now. If I can only make one of them lasts for more than 1 week, I'd already be so proud of myself already!!!

The Phone Call(s)

Inspired by Melissa (hey! I've gotta give you credit for this!)

I've been missing for a few days due to lack of sleep, too many activities and too many rediculous phone calls made by me and yes, I hope you know why.

I'm trying to avoid talking about this topic you know since I'm not very proud of it. With too many beers, I'm usualy chill. With too many vodka and whatever the hell I end up mixing it with, I'm usually hyper, dramatic and yes, turning out to be a psycho freak dialing to people I have something smart to say--which usually sounds great and awesome at the moment. I usually feel like a rocket scientist when finish leaving messages to those individuals. Mission accomplished at after 3 in the morning.

I haven't done that for so long ever since I left college. At the time in college, my friends and I did that a lot and it was pretty cute back then since everybody we called usually were students and most likely, they were still pretty much awake at those weird hours. These drunken calls were topics of redicule the day after and that was all. But since I am no longer in college, I find these calls pretty much a shame to my family--something maybe I shouldn't do it at all. But hey! this Saturday night, it's back baby! Starting off at a restaurant, my first drink (well and only drinks) was a perfect screwdriver (vodka and OJ and whatever flavour the bartender was putting in the glass.) Vodka never in the history makes me sick, so I was all happy..drinking and well drinking. Fast forward to a few hours later, I knew I had made some phone calls and to make a long story short, that was the only thing I pretty much remember.

This morning, I headed to Muncie for my sister's graduation..half hung over. I have received several calls from supposingly those I called last night asking what the hell was wrong with me. So many apologies later, I couldn't come up with any excuse to make. Only...I'm sorry I was wasted. That has been my reason so far. Well, that was the only one anyway, lol.

HOLY CRAP!!!!! Farewell to PETER BOYLE

GOODBYE..........
PETER BOYLE
i will be missing you. who is gonna be Frank now since you are gone?
Now, this is gonna be weird. I heard from Ryan today that Peter Boyle has died at the age of 71 on yesterday evening at New York Presbyterian Hospital. He had been suffering from multiple myeloma and heart desease. Boyle played a big role in several movies, but the one I have known is from is 'Everybody Loves Raymond" where he played the curmudgeonly father in this long-running sitcom show. 'Frank,' I've known him by. He is famous for saying 'holy crap' and his laid back and hilarious personalities in the show that leaded me to grow to love him.
My problem is: no one can ever replace Frank--the most funny, perky, silly on the TV show. Sleep well Boyle.

Life is Beautiful

I'm talking about a movie.

I have thought about this movie all day today for no obvious reason. I just happen to think about it and how great it is. I remember watching it for the first time in 1998 or 1999--not really sure here, and it captures the whole me right away. Since then, ain't no movie has beated this one yet. It is a heart-warming, encouraging, life changing, attitude adjusting kind of movie. It teaches you a whole lot about life in general.
In 1939, Guido, an Italian Jew, falls in love with Dora, who isn't Jewish. He woos her away from the Fascist official she has been dating, and they get married. Their son Giosue grows up among growing anti-Semitism. As the war progresses, Guido and Giosue are arrested and taken to a concentration camp. Dora goes too, determined not to separate the family. In the midst of the horrors of the camp, Guido protects his son by pretending that survival in the concentration camp is an elaborate game with which Giosue must play along or be sent home.
Won over 8 renowned awards around the world plus tons of nominations. The main charactor, Director and Screen Writer are all the same person--Roberto Benigni. Must see.
